Finals Day Winners

We had a wonderful Club Finals’ Day on 13 September – the weather held fair all day, there were some splendid matches and equally splendid cakes. There was over 50 people in attendance by the time the last match of the day (the mixed doubles) was concluded. Congratulations are due to all participants and to all entrants to a fantastic competitive programme held over 4 months. Well done to Mel for organising and to all the umpires who assisted on the day. Click on the photo for the full results!

Chiltern Cup

Stephen Biggs organised the Chiltern Cup event with other local clubs in July and we raised £155 for a charity called Beat, who help people with eating disorders; ( https://www.beateatingdisorders.org.uk/). Sarah James helped Stephen Bailey-Kennedy win the 724th trophy of his tennis career

Party on the Lawn

What a fantastic night the 'Party on the Lawn' was.  There was a great turnout - over 80 people, the weather continued to amaze, the food was delicious, the cocktails fantastic, the bar was drunk dry, the music was banging (man) and then loads of people turned up this morning to carry out the clear-up, including Linda who was driven round the car park standing in the back of Malcolm's jeep, practising for her role in next year's Love Island. So many people made the event possible but an extra big thank you to Ian and Linda; Sarah and Alan; Gail and Thomas; Sally, Ryan, Ant and everybody who came.

Champion Boys!

Well done to Jack Long, Joseph Bixley and Anthony Joseph for winning the Boys Under 18 Division 2A Team Tennis group. A hard fought match against Wooburn Green turned the tables and the winning streak continued.  A great team effort by you all. We will lose Joseph next year as he as reach the grand old age of 18! Congratulations also to the Boys Under 14 team Nick Beale, John MacGregor and Henry Yeoman who just missed out as Group Champions when they lost in a very hard fought match against Wooburn Green. Well done for doing so well.

Fantastic Rusty Racquets

Well, what a turnout for Rusty rackets this Sunday 10th June. 18 players turned up at 9am to join in warm ups, tennis skills and doubles practise. Thanks to all for making it a fun, enjoyable session. Rusty rackets continues throughout  the year (Tennis is not just for 2 weeks of the year during Wimbledon!). Mel
